Hi, I’m Chris
I love telling visual stories.
After taking a degree in Animation, I spent 15 years working on VFX in the film industry. I developed a keen eye for colour, light and composition, and an insight into storytelling at the highest level. I worked on some cool projects and won some awards, including an Oscar for my work on “Gravity”.
I picked up my first camera shortly after uni, and from the first shutter click, I was hooked; the fusion of technical and creative skills really appealed to me. I strived to learn all that I could, and the pursuit of the perfect image became my passion. I cut my teeth in photography shooting bands, alongside my day job in film, and this helped me to master creative portraits and lighting.
I photographed my first wedding in 2011, and I've been in love with shooting them ever since. It makes me so happy that I get to share in all the excitement, emotions and joyful, authentic moments of the big day, and it's an honour that so many amazing couples have trusted me to capture those special moments and tell their stories through my lens.
In 2024, I decided to quit the day job, and leap headfirst into full-time wedding photography, and I haven't looked back. As much as I loved my old job working on Hollywood films, I was just a small cog in a very big machine, and I realised I loved telling my own stories - and yours - even more.
When I’m not working, I love to travel! I’ve been to over 50 countries around the world, in search of adventure and interesting stories to tell. I also love walks in the Peak District, growing my own vegetables, and cooking delicious meals with them.
So that’s my story.
I’d love you to tell me about yours.
